AXIAL

The Axial Skeleton

The following tables have been prepared to assist you to take a complete set of radiographic views for each examination that you undertake.

The use of detail receptors [film and intensifying screens] is recommended when you radiograph the mandible and maxilla of dogs and all parts of the skull of cats. Spinal and skull radiographs of larger animals can be improved after you have optimised your exposure factors for radiography of these denser body parts.

Appropriate exposure factors can be reliably reproduced when you have constructed an exposure chart that is optimised for the region of interest.

Visit the Technique Chart Construction homepage that is linked to the Online-VeTS homepage. It will show you how to optimise your radiographic technique for spinal and skull radiography.
